Paul Leuchner is a retired government biologist who over the past 40 years has been relentless in his efforts to protect, preserve, and enhance the Niagara River ecosystem. He is one of the original Commissioners appointed to the Niagara River Greenway Commission by New York Governor George Pataki. He is the founder of Paddles Up Niagara, a family paddlesports event that has become a Grand Island tradition. Paul is an award-winning wildlife photographer. He is also an experienced kayak ecotour guide.
